Nearing completion

The shower is almost complete!
I can't wait until we can actually use it.

Hopefully we will finish up by the end of this week.

Bathroom progress

So the bathroom is still under construction...check out what is going to be the shower!

Bathroom Remodel

It is official...the bathroom remodel has begun! Look at that butterfly wallpaper! I wonder what decade that is from!

There was a serious pink / fuschia paint at one time that not only was in this bathroom, but the master bedroom as well. Eeek!

Hoss

Hoss decided to eat some oil over the weekend...he ingested some leftover oil from fish frying at the Powell's house in Panama City...he gave us quite a scare...and an overnight stay at the vet with IV fluids. Yikes!!!

He's much better now...but I need to keep him away from the Wesson!

The St. Louis Adventure

I flew to St. Louis on Thursday morning, June 22 to help Tracy move into her new place. We camped on Thursday night and drove around a little on Friday morning...awaiting the POD arrival.
These are the only 2 pictures I took while in St. Louis. We were a little preoccupied with the actual moving to do any more.
The picture below was after we had moved most of the boxes inside...she had used every available space in the POD!
We had a good time, though we didn't actually do any tourist things...that will have to be saved for my next trip!
This is Tracy, my favorite and only sister. I miss her. Isn't she the cutest?

Rupert

RUPERT













Rupert gave us quite a scare this morning!

Tracy came by around 5 a.m. to pick him up...and he took off!

He finally strolled back around the yard, so Tracy could put him in his pet carrier. Whew!!

Tracy, Rupert, Maija and Anna are all on their way to ST. Louis!

Hard to believe I'll be heading up there tomorrow.

I'll post an update when I get back!

Goodbye to Friends!

Our sweet friends, The Flynns, are moving! They are headed to a new adventure in Fort Bragg, North Carolina.

Mark is already in North Carolina...Emily & Julia will be heading there in a couple of weeks. We will miss you.

New Umbrella

So we brought some color to the back patio this week...by adding an umbrella to our table.
Quite cute.

St. Louis

So I'm headed to St. Louis in June to help my sister move.
It will be a short trip...but I hope to help her get all of her boxes moved in that weekend.

Maybe I'll get to ride in the elevator at the arch?

In Bloom

So as we move into a new season at Mountain Drive, we are discovering new plants!

This jasmine smells WONDERFUL each time we come and go from the house.

How nice to begin and end each day.








I assume these are a kind of lily,
but I might have to research that.

I have what one might call a "brown thumb". I think I have already managed to seriously damage the flowers out front.

Bert

So Bert has a little spot now that Charlie made for him. He keeps coming back each night, but we haven't seen his friend lately.

Headed to the Beach

So tax season is over and we're headed to the beach!

This was actually Cannon Beach, Oregon a couple of years ago...and there is snow on the ground. Hopefully we'll have beautiful, warm weather this weekend.

The Cat

So we have a cat...named Casey...who is pretty much a senior citizen at 14 years. I still worry a little that he might get a hold of Bert.
Sometimes we also have Rupert...my sister's kitty...come visit us. He is a little younger and is a pretty good hunter. I also worry that future visits from Rupert could hurt Bert.
Let's pray Bert lives a long and healthy life!

Bert

So we have a new friend at the house...we named him Bert!
He's this cute birdie that has started to come sleep (or something) at our back door.
Charlie has made him a little ledge to land/sit on (not pictured). I'll have to get a shot of that soon and add it.
Bert showed up with a friend one night (another little birdie...just like him), so Charlie decided he needed more room.

Charlie and I met with some friends for dinner tonight at YEN...the most wonderful food haven. We had fun, we laughed, we ate...and we had great company.

Babysitting

Okay,
A couple of weeks ago we babysat a CUTE baby lab. She is so precious. Haley graced us with her presence for a weekend. She terrorized Hoss, but I think he had a good time with her.

So...it's a new year.
Maybe I will begin updating this more often!

The BIG news...I am finally a C.P.A.!!!

I never have to study for the exam again!

My family and friends won't think I'm avoiding them anymore!

Surviving Katrina

The hurricane passed through, and we are all fine.

No electricity at home, yet. I'm updating at work. :)
